An important new campaign calls us to Be a Witness to the ongoing atrocities in Darfur, Sudan. Major network and cable news outlets have devoted almost no attention to this story, in comparison to events like Michael Jackson's trial. I feel that I've been quite well informed about this story, to the point of paralysis in the face of something so horrible. But that's because I watch PBS and read the New York Times. Many more Americans get their news in other places, which maybe--just maybe--would have the power to motivate action if they focused on this story as much as they focused on the Live8 concert a few weeks ago.
